| Scharendijk is a town at the edge of the Grevelingenmeer, we stay at the De Kabbelaar dive centre whose 'house' reef is probably the equivalent of Stoney Cove with a steady stream of eager new divers to be dunked. There are training platforms (which we've never seen) but also a cluster of reef balls and plenty of typical shallow coastal wildlife. Normally it's a great macro browsing dive but this time it was like soup, and not thin trendy soup either! However there were some pipefish on the chains to the marker buoys and a selection of prawns on the flashy new pontoon. |
