| The Zeelandbrug is THE site we go to dive... at roughly this time of year cuttlefish gather to breed and lay their eggs. The roughly bit is right, the gathering lasts for about two weeks peaking for a few days. Water temperature is trigger for the party and a warm Spring brings it forward whilst a cold snap delays it. We were on target in 07 but we missed in 08 and there were just a couple of lonely cuttlefish lurking in the drifts of suspended stuff. At least there was a good new onsite guide to the site as well as the self service compressor. One dive was enough, we could see that we'd blown it... better luck next year! |
